Focus on Government
Helping communities prosper
Our leaders and those
who promise to serve and protect our communities should set examples
of good character through the resolutions they pass. In Kootenai
County, for example, Commissioners Gus Johnson, Ron Rankin, and Dick
Panabaker signed a County Resolution in April, 2001 to encourage
character throughout the county. As a result, a privately funded
character training program has been initiated for all county
employees, which began with giving each employee a Character Family
book, a 2002 Character Calendar, and an invitation to a community-wide
Character Conference and monthly breakfasts.
Cities and counties all
over the country are passing resolutions to focus on character
development within their jurisdictions. Some of the resolutions passed
in our community include:
- Kootenai County
- Rathdrum City Council
- Worley City Council
