Focus on Business

Helping businesses be more productive

Several area businesses have already experienced the benefits of focusing on character development, including improved employee relationships, morale and productivity. Good character not only benefits the individual employee, but also the employee's family and the business as a whole.

Helping businesses and their employees gain a better understanding of how using character quality traits in their everyday lives will contribute to success both in everyday life and in business.

Character is modeled by leadership. It's developed by recognizing and emphasizing the right attitudes, words and actions. It's built into a person's life by the moment-to-moment decisions he or she makes.

It isn't fluff. The implementation of character requires understanding and willingness of employers to build a solid foundation. Part of the Character Council's plan is to provide resources to businesses that wish to instill or expand a character focus. For instance, implementation of a curriculum such as Character First!®, which focuses on hiring for character, teaching a character quality every month, character recognition, and character-based correction and evaluation can help provide this type of foundation.

The end result is a more successful working environment.
