Building Character

We
devote several pages in this branch to explaining some of our
philosophies about character. These will provide insight into our core
belief that through encouragement and positive reinforcement, these
character qualities will help to strengthen and grow the fabric of
ourselves, our families and our community.
It's also where we
feature information on the Character Quality of the Month (below). In
addition to practicing and building oneself, there are many ways for
businesses, schools, faith organizations and local government to
encourage and feature each Character Quality of the Month.
Alertness vs. Carelessness
"Being aware of what is taking place around me so I can have
the right response."
I will …
-
Keep my eyes and ears open.
-
recognize and heed warning signals.
-
choose to do right before I'm tempted.
-
tell others of danger.
-
stay away form unsafe places.
“Character is
the rudder that steers the boat.
Character
determines not whether you are on course.
You’re always
on course. The question is whether you are on the right course.”
Scott Wilder
